Army National Guard Specialist Rusty Ouart proudly served his country for two years. His enlistment in the National Guard was motivated by the events of 9-11. While on deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he sustained life-altering wounds during a mortar attack. SPC Ouart received many awards and decorations for his service including the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/ Bronze Service Star.
