Timothy Murphy proudly served as a firefighter for 16 years. He began his career as a first responder with the New York Police Department for three years. In 1989, he transitioned to the New York Fire Department where he served in Manhattan with Fire Engine Company 39. Murphy retired in 2005 due to injuries received in the line of service. He earned many awards for his service including the Meritorious Action Award and the World Trade Center 9/11 Service Medal.
